Branding Photography for a somatic healer

Meet Malini, owner and creator of Numb to Alive.

She’s a scientist turned somatic coach and healer, supporting high achievers come back to themselves without giving up on their ambitions. Through her work she’s changing the narrative that we have to push ourselves to burnout to be successful. And I’m so here for it. Here’s how her website defines it:

“Malini Ghosal, PhD is an energy researcher turned burnout recovery coach and nervous system educator who helps deep-thinking, high-achieving people recover from burnout and reconnect with their spark… Malini’s approach is rooted in compassion, presence, and getting to the root of our stuckness, so you can move from survival mode to an easeful and empowered living.”

I had the pleasure of meeting her last year, when she was just starting her business. She wanted to get pictures that showcased her own practices and featured her doing the things behind the scenes that got her to this place. So meditation, breathwork, mindfulness, drinking tea, being in nature. She also wanted some pictures showing her at her computer building her courses and working on her business. We made a plan to meet at her home office to start then head out to a Kennewick park for some of those dreamy nature shots.

As soon as we met I knew we would click.

She has a welcoming and loving energy about her, and she was so calming to be around. Her furbaby was super interested in me and my bags, and of course he had to jump into some pictures too (naturally).

Side note: I always love including my clients’ babies in pictures, whether they’re human or animal (or both). It shows a depth to your life that goes beyond the business and lets people in to see more of who you are. With coaches and energy workers, it’s especially important to build that trust and showcase a little more about you. People aren’t just buying your service, they’re buying what you represent.

Check out some of the ways Malini has used her branding photos in her business:

Malini was a dream to work with.

Since we worked together she has grown her coaching business in a big way. She created a 12 week program called Re-Ignite, takes on 1:1 coaching clients, and is getting ready to start a 3 month small group coaching journey: Anchor into Spacious Self. You should absolutely check her out if you struggle with overwhelm, burnout, misalignment, or just need support regulating all the struggles of living a busy life. Because remember: self-care can come in many forms, and hiring a coach who can support your journey is definitely one of them.
